Bringing home the LOVE

Hey Girrrrls! It's V-Day eve, and you know I'm not talking vajayjays! Gone are the days of red roses, heart shaped boxes full of decadent chocolates and my favorite Oregon Blossom wine. Nope, these days Valentine's Day consists of a different tune. This V-Day eve and the days leading up to it have consisted of picking out sugar packets with a cute card attached, scribbling twenty something names on each one, and passing them out at the class parties. The class parties at which I too, will show up with yet more treats in hand. Boy have things changed! So to all of my fellow Moms out there, who powered through the class parties, scrambled to get their own kiddos a special little treat, and are now dealing with the candy hangover they came home from school with, Happy Valentine's Day Sister!

When I was originally planning this post, I was going to share a bunch of my favorite Valentine's inspired rooms and home decor. But then I realized that I had a good dose of hearts, love and mushiness in my own house! So instead, I invite you into our home!

Right inside the front door, on top of the built-ins, sets one of my favorite pieces of art. This "Love Oregon" print by Katie Daisy, is full of color and much like all of her work, it just makes me happy. It also serves as an affirmation during our dreary, rainy days...err, months.

The language of love carries on into our Dining Room/ Kitchen, where this beauty sits on the plate rail, reminding us to, "Love Who You Are". It is by Papaya, which is a company full of color and beauty! Is that wierd to have art about love sitting above my breakfast bar? I've wondered this before, but I'm not convinced one way or the other, so I go with it. The colors are perfect for the spot, so there she stays.

Maybe a little less surprising place to find the love themed home decor is in our Master Bedroom. The canvas hanging above the bed was a HomeGoods find. The lettering is metallic gold. And is it too cheesy to say that I LOVE it? The pillow had me at hello as well. I can't get enough of the geometric prints lately, and the fact that this little guy also had gold lettering to tie in the print hanging above, well let's just say it jumped into my shopping cart.

Also in our Master Bedroom, is this little plaque made out of old ceiling tin, and scrap metal. We picked it up at The Country Living Fair in Austin, Texas a few years ago, so it reminds me of our family trip. Not only that, the two hearts nestled together seem to be a good fit when sitting along side our engagement and wedding photos.

Did you have one or two go-to lullubuys for your kiddos? Maybe even a special, but different one for each child? We did. I can't even begin to imagine how many times my husband and I sang, "You are my Sunshine" to our oldest daughter. So when I found the blue canvas print with those words in gold, I knew it have to be part of her room re-do.

What about you? Do you have any hearts, love, or otherwise mushy home decor? If so, please share with us what it is and how you incorporated it into your home.

Until next time, Happy Valentine's Day!

XOXO,  Lindsey
